"Zi Han," "Zi Xuan," "Hao Ran" — you'll find three in a single kindergarten class. How to avoid that?
Recent hot characters: Zi (子/梓), Xuan (轩), Han (涵), Xin (欣), Yi (怡), Ran (然), Nuo (诺). Individually they're fine, but two hot characters together create the most overused names.
Try: Tang (crabapple), Mei (riverbank), Yu (islet), Jin (hibiscus), You (a grass). Distinctive but not rare.
Use double-character given names to increase uniqueness for common surnames. One common character paired with one distinctive character works well.
