BaZi reads relationships through two key positions: the Day Branch (spouse palace) and the spouse star.
The Day Branch is your spouse's "home." If it's a favorable element, your partner brings support and ease. If it's unfavorable, expect friction. A Day Branch clash (e.g., Zi-Wu) means instability — living apart frequently or tension. A Day Branch combination means your spouse is sociable but may attract attention.
For men: Wealth stars represent the spouse. Direct Wealth = wife, Indirect Wealth = romantic interests. Wealth as favorable and unclashed means a supportive partner. For women: Officer stars represent the spouse. Direct Officer = husband, Seven Killings = romantic interests. A single clear Officer means stable marriage; mixed Officer and Killings means complicated romantic history.
A year that combines with your Day Branch or brings your spouse star often triggers marriage or a significant relationship. Example: if your Day Branch is Mao, a Xu year combines with Mao — often a marriage or relationship year.
