The Qian hexagram is the first of 64, with Qian (heaven) over Qian. It represents heaven, leadership, and pure yang energy.
Yuan = beginning, Heng = success, Li = appropriateness, Zhen = correctness. Qian represents creative power: spring sprouting, summer growing, autumn harvesting, winter storing.
Line 9 (bottom): Hidden dragon — don't act. Line 2: Dragon appearing in the field — show yourself. Line 3: The superior person works diligently all day — stay alert. Line 4: Leaping in the deep — choose your moment. Line 5: Flying dragon in the sky — peak achievement. Line 6 (top): Arrogant dragon — excess brings regret.
Qian describes strategy for life stages: hide when you should, fly when it's time. Line 5 is the ideal — but remember Line 6: know when to stop at the peak.
