Three Talents examines the five-element relationship between the Heaven, Person, and Earth grids.
Map grid numbers to elements: 1,2 = Wood; 3,4 = Fire; 5,6 = Earth; 7,8 = Metal; 9,0 = Water. Then check the generating and controlling cycles between them.
Generating cycles are best: Heaven Wood → Person Fire → Earth Fire. This represents smooth support from elders. All three elements the same also represents stability.
Controlling cycles indicate pressure: Heaven Metal controlling Person Metal means authority suppression. Person Wood controlling Earth Earth means conflict with subordinates. A bad Three Talents configuration is concerning even if individual grids are auspicious.
