What the result means
The classical relationships between zodiac branches are the first layer of BaZi compatibility:
- Six Combinations (六合): Zi–Chou, Yin–Hai, Mao–Xu, Chen–You, Si–Shen, Wu–Wei — natural ease and attraction.
- Three Harmonies (三合): groups of three branches sharing an element team — strong team energy.
- Six Clashes (六冲): Zi–Wu, Chou–Wei, Yin–Shen, Mao–You, Chen–Xu, Si–Hai — friction over pace and habits.
- Harm/Break (害/破): subtle tensions that show up in small misunderstandings.

Frequently asked questions
Is this calculator a full BaZi compatibility reading?
No. It checks only the zodiac (year branch) layer from two birth years. A full reading compares all four pillars — year, month, day and hour — including Day Master elements, the spouse palace and the Ten Gods.
Does a zodiac clash mean the relationship will fail?
No. A Six Clash shows friction over pace, habits or timing, not impossibility. Many long marriages carry a day-branch or year-branch clash; support in the rest of the charts and willingness to negotiate matter more.
What should I compare for a real compatibility reading?
